Ming Hon's 20 plus years career to date encompasses various disciplines in the underwriting, credit risk management, credit claims-handling, business development, accounting and finance domains. He started his career at PwC Malaysia in 1995 before moving to OCBC Securities Malaysia in 1997. In 1999, he joined Swiss Re Singapore and started his reinsurance career focusing mainly on Credit & Surety underwriting and client management. In 2010, he joined Asia Capital Re Singapore and eventually took on the Head of Credit & Surety role, leading an underwriting team with pan-Asia business responsibility.

He has extensive experience in underwriting both treaty and facultative Credit & Surety reinsurance business in Asia. He has developed a strong business network of insurance clients, brokers and banks in Singapore, China, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan as well as Malaysia. He also has strong business relationship with Credit & Surety reinsurance professionals in Europe.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia, majoring in accounting and finance. In addition, he has completed the Advanced Diploma in Insurance of The Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), CII UK.]
